I normally choose the right person in my team to delegate to and communicate my expectations. I ensure they have access to the required resources and also support. Once the task is complete, I review the work and provide feedback. I also thank the team member for working on the task. At times I request that they can also give feedback in terms of what support they had expected as opposed to what they received. I have a background in Finance and practiced in my early career years before I moved to management. I am good at preparing and monitoring budgets. I believe that budgeting is necessary for any managerial role. Managers should be able to monitor and set budgets for the projects in which they are involved. In my previous role, I was involved in ensuring that we deliver projects within the set budgets. The projects I worked on were completed within budget as a result of the great monitoring skills that I possess.

Yes, I have. To ensure that the project succeeds I took the time to understand the stakeholder’s needs and wants. I also went ahead and set a schedule and a base budget on the key deliverables in the process. I got creative in the allocation of tasks among team members. Once I understood each side, I look for a mutual solution and bring them together to mediate a lasting solution. I give them a chance to share what they think is a solution for their conflict first. I also reiterate that it is important that they understand that they are at work and should behave as such and concentrate on the tasks at hand.

I look at the problem and try to understand where it is coming from. I then analyze possible solutions and choose the most viable. At times I challenge the employee that has raised the problem to offer solutions for the same.
