My experience has been of growth and gratitude. I have academically excelled and continue to thrive because medical technicians cannot rely on stagnancy. I completed the prerequisite sonography certification. I aim to complete a master’s degree in sonography. I started my internship as a sonography room technician, where I used to be a part of the city’s leading hospital’s biomedical team. We conducted regular systems maintenance checks and that taught me a lot about handling the sonogram. After two years I switched and became an assistant for the sonographer in the current organization where I have been working for two years.
7. What Kind Of Strategies And Mindset Are Required For This Role?
When a patient comes for examination, she/ he is under stress. Whether it is a fetus ultrasound or other medical diagnosis ultrasound, the sonographer faces different emotional upheavals in the room in the minimum span of his interaction with the patient. The sonographer should remain discrete and pragmatic. In case of any acute diagnosis, he should be able to deliver the news in the politest manner with due consideration for the stress and condition of the patient. Public dealing is the biggest challenge. I have seen teenage girls who get pregnant and come for a sonogram. They are scared and they don’t know what to do. I have seen patients suffering in pain due to gall stone and he doesn’t know the pain is due to gal stone and he wants to just get done with the procedure. A Sonographer has to pacify them and convince them to undergo a thorough analysis. That is a challenge. Another challenge is the biomedical aspect of imaging devices. Technology becomes advanced rapidly. How soon can you replace your current imaging device with the latest? Can you convince the management of the change you expect? I find this a foreseeable challenge in this role.
9. How Do You Stay Motivated At Work?
Motivation is a tricky part while being a sonographer. The internal powerhouse of motivation develops with years of practice. I establish cordial relations with the team. A good working environment alleviates the tension within a medical diagnosis place. Furthermore, I practice morning yoga to stay motivated and in tune with my career goals. I also consider that being a medical diagnostic sonographer is a rewarding field because through diagnosis I help people begin their treatment and get their cure. 10. Describe A Time You Failed In This Role And The Lesson You Learned?
Failure is a way to learn and succeed in the future. I was doing a fetal ultrasound. I found the first heartbeat and later the second heartbeat. I broke the news with too much enthusiasm to the parents who were not expecting twins and were not ready for twins. I tried to convince them about how great that was, but I ended up with a lot of frowns. It was the most important lesson about public dealing. To remain a part of the process in a nonchalant manner and break the news moderately and professionally with questions.

I believe I am qualified for this job because I am a self-disciplined and highly motivated candidate. I had a chance of exposure to international imaging labs as part of my semester program which made me understand the needs of the patients in the healthcare industry and the best possible way to address those needs. Furthermore, in the dynamic and intense environment of a medical diagnosis center keeping a balance between a serious candidate with apt skills and a cordial coworker is hard and I have been able to strike that balance even on our worst days. There are numerous opportunities for the ultrasound technician to grow his knowledge base. Firstly, the job in itself is a great hub for expanding the knowledge base. While I have a sufficient amount of experience in sonography, I still need to get exposure to neuro-oncology exams. Neurosonology is an emerging field in imaging technology and I am highly intrigued by it. I am looking forward to having an opportunity to train in this emergent imaging field.
19. Why Do You Think Neurosonology Is An Emergent Field?
Neurosonology images are a great pre-interventional monitoring and risk stratification in fatal diseases such as carotid artery disease. It is an indispensable medical imaging tool for diagnosis. It is a revolutionary leap in imaging technology which is why I think it is an emergent field with great potential.
20. Do You Plan To Get Rdms Certified?
I have that planned for this year. I want to be a specialist in echocardiography and neurosonology. I want to continue my imaging career by developing a focused medical diagnostic experience for treating heart and brain issues and how imaging tests are vital and assist in diagnosis.
21. Where Do You See Yourself In Five Years?
I want to be a lead sonographer with internationally recognized Medical Diagnosis Imaging Certification and a specialty in heart and brain imaging. I want to excel in my imaging expertise in these two areas because imaging diagnostic for coronary and brain diseases is a highly intriguing domain.

I use soft skills while explaining the procedure and diagnosis.
