A major challenge is dealing with diverse and vulnerable people and working in a crisis. The difficult part is showing resilience. Then there is no set time for working nor there can be a work schedule for clients who have already run into their issues and facing problems related to the project at hand.

My day starts with 4-8 zoom meetings with various clients, and prospects and doing even fire-fighting that arises daily. I spend my time attending to the MUST DO list and then return to work after hours to finish off the tasks that did not get done during daylight hours. I make sure to focus on is being present as I talk with anyone. I find multi-tasking is necessary at times but it is not me at my best. Thereby, I try to only put things on my calendar that ladder up to the company’s strategic vision and support my client targets.

I have experience working with children and families in social care settings and working with adults again in social care settings and agencies for supported accommodation, residential/nursing homes; charities while working with individuals having disabilities; domestic violence charities, and homelessness services as well as substance misuse provision. I also worked in counseling settings or working on a one-to-one basis within youth and community work settings.

I happen to work with a small setup having few employees only. Corona pandemic came up as a challenge as we had not been practicing work-from-home while we were expected to work with 50% strength in the office. We managed to attend ZOOM meetings and of course, we had to equip every individual working from home with computers, the internet, and the necessary paraphernalia. Then there used to be a power breakdown during our meeting and things used to go even worse as we were understaffed with no such experience.

I am confident in this role as becoming a Case Worker as I got specialized training and certification. It is not a job just anyone can perform but that is what makes caseworkers valued professionals in the world. Although training is essential, the barrier to entry into the social work information field is not as high as in other careers. I am a qualified Case Worker from the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) too.

I have worked hard in my area but to mention a few:

  • Utilized Connections through ACS (Administration for Children’s Services) for developing notes documentation for a caseload of 17 clients, 24 children within the caseload

  • Notified supervisor regarding the welfare of the child

During college, I took a part-time job in an office where I managed the office affairs and fieldwork after their lunch break. I would always make sure that I am spending my time managing clients as well as senior colleagues’ data. So, they should not worry about the environment and they can start their work easily. As a caseworker, I remain attached to society and resolve the problems- a win-win situation.

An action is a clear, detailed list of all the steps you need to take to reach your goal, along with a proposed timeline of when you’ll complete each step or task. When I have to, I need to think about the purpose of that action plan to reach my goals faster and in a timely fashion. Perhaps you are looking to increase brand awareness through various channels. In each case, we need to identify each step with duties and responsibilities for each team member clearly with a timeline. We need to be SMART which stands for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely.

Communication is one of the skills in that I excel. I easily bond with people and this helps in getting work done with my team. In my career, I have also worked under minimal supervision where I was only responsible for my task. I work well in both situations. Teamwork is important because it enables your team to share ideas and responsibilities, which helps reduce stress on everyone, allowing them to be meticulous and thorough when completing tasks. This will enable them to meet their goals quickly.
