5. Describe Your Workday As A Reference Librarian.

My working day usually starts at 9 o’clock in the morning. After greeting my colleagues in the library, I unpacked my briefcase to check the schedule for today. At 9:15 a.m., I attend a stand-up meeting. At this meeting, the library manager informs the staff about the routine of the day and also informs us about the decisions of the library administration. After the meeting, I go to the public service desk and assist people in finding the resources. Then, I assigned study rooms and computers to the public. 10. Describe A Time When You Failed In This Role And What You Learned From It.

In the library, I had to deal with a client who was abusive. With no permission, he came directly into my office and addressed me in a degrading manner. He came to me in a rage, complaining that I had given him an unsuitable reference and had wasted his time. As we talked, I tried to be sympathetic to his point of view. I apologized to the client for the error and assured him that it would not happen again.
