I think with my former experience, I have gained skills and experience which has prepared me to be a part of such a clientele that values precision and quality of service. I am ready for taking the responsibility of a managerial position because I am qualified and experienced to handle it. I have an active social media account about organizational ASMR where I have collaborated with many house cleaning and organizing tools and equipment brands. This experience has allowed me to thoroughly understand what your house/ hotel needs to be a vision of spotless cleanliness, impeccable organization, and a cozy abode. This is why I feel enthusiastic and ready for this job!

2. What Are The Roles Of A Housekeeping Manager?

Among the many roles and responsibilities of a housekeeping manager, managing staff effectively to run the system of the hotel is in my point of view the most important and rewarding role! Other than that a housekeeping manager is supposed to have the surfaces cleaned which includes wiping, dusting, and cleaning the floor, walls, windows, counters, tables, and other furniture. He is supposed to manage the carpet vacuuming and other duties as expected by the contractor. Sometimes, a housekeeping manager is also supposed to manage the restocking of cleaning supplies for the house. I am willing to take up any additional requirements by the employer as I can handle them!

3. What Are The Qualities A Housekeeping Manager Needs To Be Successful?

The housekeeping job is more technical than it sounds. A housekeeping employee should have a full grasp on cleaning chemicals, their side effects, and their usage specifications. Sometimes a house member might be allergic to harmful chemical fumes. Anything that is not environmentally and health-friendly should not be used in the house. Furthermore, a housekeeping manager should be self-disciplined and should be able to effectively manage the time. He should be soft-spoken and able to maintain the privacy of the house. He should be able to deliver excellent services by properly managing the supplies and the subordinates.

4. What Major Challenges Do You Face During Your Last Role? How Did You Manage Them?

Pandemic is the most challenging time for the housekeeping service industry. This is because the COVID sanitary requirements are ever-present with or without a vaccine. Housekeeping staff has to care for their health and safety alongside caring for the people’s health and safety. I found the COVID hotel isolation policy the most challenging in my career. We had COVID patients isolated in the hotel where I was employed in a junior housekeeping role. Managing anxious COVID patients and trying to ensure sanitary compliance with the patients was the hardest part of my job. With a shortage of staff, fear, and uncertainty keeping the commitment to the job was also challenging. I focused on the bigger picture and educated myself with every passing day about COVID. We managed the shortage of staff through shifts and turns and my manager ensured the safety and security of employees which made it easier to combat the challenge.
