I had long working hours in my previous role that declined my physical health. I was working 8 hours and was easily managing the tasks but for three consecutive months, the warehouse faced a shortage of staff. For this, my working hours increased. My shift keeps me on my toes and I enjoy being part of such an environment. Every day, I start my day with receiving and loading boxes as a first task. It involves taking off boxes from carrier trailers and moving those to designated warehouse space. As they move, I scan the pallets and boxes and check the damages if any. Once it’s done, I remove the wraps and outer material from the boxes. Later, I stack the items in carriers so that space is secure and optimized for the next shipment.
After this, I move on to order assignments and pick items from the warehouse shelves. I use a barcode scanner to verify the items in every order. Once an order is complete, I pack the orders as per instructions and verify the box weight as I apply the printed labels.

I started my career as an Order Fulfillment trainer at a local organization where my duties were primarily related to refunds and exchanges. I stocked the items back on the shelves and updated the inventory accordingly. In a few months, I was also given the duty of order fulfillment at the same organization. I joined another organization a year later where my primary duty was order processing. My experience has given be a lot of learning and exposure. I have been able to upscale my skills and technical knowledge in this field. Working at two international logistic services, UPS and FedEx gave me great exposure that I am sure I can utilize here and teach my fellow members too.

To excel in this role, attention to detail is the primary skill needed. To read the complete order to go into logistics, an associate must have high observation and organization and clear thinking.

10. Describe A Time You Failed In This Role And The Lesson You Learned?
In my career, I overcommitted the number of orders that will be packed by me. It was humanly impossible to achieve and I started getting burnt out. My supervisor appreciated the enthusiasm I had but also told me to stop being a robot. I learnt that slow and steady does win the race after all. I need to make sure that I don’t overcommit and ignore the perfection I can provide with a calm mind.

In my last role, I have been an employee of the month in my department several times. I do not participate in work politics and I am always focused on my tasks.
